After More than 2 and a half years...
An approach to better health, a few overseas trips, a few minor roles and this website update... am I back at full force?

Two and a half years, is how long I have not been here. I have news, makes the return a bit more dramatic. I still have my struggles with Health but manage it better. I just came back from Toronto where that paddle board banner was taken and Taiwan earlier this year where this jump shot was taken by myself. relax the floor was just digitally removed.

...The website builder changed significantly while I was away from it and I took a whole night to find a suitable theme and I am still not completely happy with it. Some things probably don't work others need tweeking and I miss a few old elements but it was time to change theme. Say hello to the scroll reactive banners. The news is I landed a featured extra role in the AirTasker ad.
Now it's not the most glamorous of roles being a glorified chore hand but it does get a lot of exposure, one friend reported the sighting to me on facebook (thanks Johnny) and here is his screenshot straight from his phone.

The contact detailed that it will be on Australian free to air TV, Online social medias with potential for airing Britain, and Scotland, cinema and ...

Don't know how long this will be around on their FB page so watch me dance while it is hot.
The audition for it was actually really easy, I got the brief for it which noted a performance in the tune of snoop dogg's drop it like it's hot. I downloaded the music video and listened to it on a loop for awhile not really getting into a dance on it but also blasted it in the car real gangsta like. I got to make several attempts in the audition room which is usually a good sign, I was locked in by the time I had the call back and performed for the director to give slightly more specific dance moves, they showed me videos from my first audition and I did actually look real cool with the pop and locking (I have no idea what I am taking about) but was honestly unable to replicate what I had done. On the actual shoot date I still haven't practised any dance moves but it seems the director was after something raw, spontaneous and unrehearsed cause after all we are supposed to be everyday people hired to do chores. Sill I wish I was more confident deep down with my moves, my segment was in the bag quickly though so... director was happy.  Here is the full clip

Okay if you did watch that for me I am doing a porcelain tiger repair which is over in seconds. Thing is I did this live action shoot first and the carpet cleaner guy seen at the start was then replaced by me in the stills shoot, why? I can only guess... perhaps diversity. Bravo

My real name is Bob. Generic Asian name.

I got a story for this stills shoot too, the stills director gave pretty simple directions, told carpet cleaner stick and just dance. I really didn't have much to work with and was sure I looked like a tool, see the above gif video to see what I mean. The shoot was getting pretty drab as they were working with other "taskers" before me, for the heck of it I added a bit of Asian flavor to it and did some martial arts poses and even some pulled off some mid air shots working with timing them with the photographer. The photographer happened to have done mid air freeze photos before as his thing* as the director showed me the DOP's portfolio. The Director was instantly happy when I pulled off the action photos, like something cool finally happened for the day and we were on to something, he even said that he wants to suggest a slogan that says get a kung-fu master to kick your rug into shape (best I could recall).

"I didn't know you had it in you" - the director at the end of the shoot. And that was how I reaffirmed that every Asian knows some sort of martial arts. I did prefer these photos but reality is they are a bit exotic and may change expectations from actual "taskers" I also may appear to be stealing some thunder from of the other talents in a corporate image that was designed to be uniform.

Regardless, I am really happy with these photos and into the portfolio they go, I'm gently coming back into the swing of things, but for now...

Everyone should know, I have these moves in me.
